October 4, 2010 – New Orleans, LA - City Council President Arnie Fielkow is hosting his second virtual town hall meeting on www.Fielkow.net this Thursday, October 7th, from 8am to 9am.
The topic of the real-time chat will be the recently passed City Charter amendment that will abolish the New Orleans Recreation Department and replace it with a new agency, the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission. Constituents will be able to ask Councilmember Fielkow questions about the new Comission and what to expect in the months to come.
The first virtual town hall hosted by Councilmember Fielkow took place on September 2nd and touched on a variety of topics, from the oil spill to the reformation of recreation. Narrowing the town hall to one subject will focus the hour long discussion and hopefully produce an in-depth conversation about the designated topic.
Councilmember Fielkow will hold a virtual town hall every other month on the morning of a City Council meeting. To learn about future town hall meetings, log onto www.Fielkow.net regularly.
