August 30, 2010 – New Orleans, LA - On October 2, 2010, the citizens of Orleans Parish will vote on an amendment to the Home Rule Charter of the City of New Orleans to create a new model for New Orleans recreation. The New Orleans Recreation Department Citizens Advisory Panel (NORD CAP), in concert with City Council President Arnie Fielkow and his fellow Councilmembers, are working diligently to ensure all citizens know what exactly is up for vote. Meetings in District ‘A’ and District ‘C’ have already been held. Below is a list of meetings in the remaining districts. All District meetings are open to the public and will be used to educate attendees on the proposed reform. Present at each meeting will be a member of the NORD CAP, Councilmembers-at-Large Arnie Fielkow and Jacquelyn Brechtel Clarkson, District Councilmembers, as well as experts on the proposed reform.
